Tasman Glacier

The journey continues, photos from our September 2019 trip to South Island, New Zealand.

The night before, it was windy and cold, we spent our night at a local hotel in order to rest for next day hike. While having breakfast in the common kitchen, we were enjoying this breathtaking view of the mount Cook.

From the balcony, we could witness the weather changing rapidly…

There was a small crowd in the parking lot and our walk started slowly. After climbing a few hundred of steps, we were greeted with this harsh and cold wind descending from the mountains through the lake…

Looking around and trying to capture as much as possible while enjoying the fresh air of the mountains.

Looking back and checking on the weather as well…

Capturing one more moment before heading to the other side of the lake..

Took our time to setup and inhaling the fresh air…

Mahalo!

Aoraki, Mount Cook, NZ

We left Queenstown in the morning and headed over to Mount Cook. Our plan was to get there in the middle of afternoon, and hopefully catch the sunset around the area.

The parking lot was not too crowded, but was filling up by the end of the day. We were ready to tackle this long and cold walk. The month before we arrived, the trail was still closed and luckily opened up while we were there. That was the highlight of our trip!

A few stops on the side of the road…

The walk was not too hard, but more sightseeing, taking breaks and pictures… then continue…

Admiring the views…

Such a peaceful and quiet environment…

Taking our time to get to there…

Setting up near the lake…

Not the only one…
